At present, the mainstream technology of direct incineration of wet sludge is: mixed firing with coal, and oil and gas must be used to support combustion, and the combustion methods used mainly include circulating fluidized bed co-firing, pulverized coal co-firing, and mixed firing in the bed furnace after granulation. With the stricter environmental standards, the incineration of domestic sludge by domestic waste incinerators is mainly reflected in the following problems;

1. The dioxin problem

Dioxins are a class of highly toxic substances, and their acute toxicity is equivalent to 1000 times that of potassium chloride, and a large number of animal experiments have shown that very low concentrations of dioxins show lethal effects on animals. Dioxins are highly persistent compounds that have a strong affinity for soil and sediment and can easily accumulate in biological tissues.

2. Heavy metal issues

Heavy metals are generally present in flue gas in both solid and gaseous forms. Therefore, the purification of heavy metals is mainly based on two aspects: "efficient capture" and "low temperature control". Since the purification process of heavy metals is similar to that of organic pollutants, that is, activated carbon is sprayed for adsorption, and then it is captured by a bag filter, and the heavy metals are purified at the same time in the organic matter purification process.

3. Foul odor problem

Strictly control the whole sludge mixing system and the furnace to be in a reliable negative pressure state to ensure that there is no foul odor overflow at the treatment site, which requires increasing the corresponding equipment investment and fine operation management, and at the same time, the combustion chamber must maintain high temperature, and the flue gas temperature at the outlet of the furnace is not lower than 850 °C to ensure the elimination of the foul odor of the flue gas.
