Biomass Boiler Safety Technology Symposium Held in Nanjin

From May 8 to 11, 2024, hosted by China Boiler and Boiler Water Treatment Association (hereinafter referred to as "China Boiler Association"), co-sponsored by Jiangsu Renewable Energy Society Biomass Energy Committee, and organized by Nanjing Ruizhong Automation Co. Symposium was successfully held in Nanjing.

Guo Yuanliang, chief consultant of China Boiler Association, Wang Jialing, secretary-general of China Boiler Association, Liu Xinzhi, director of Jiangsu Renewable Energy Society Biomass Energy Committee, Qiu Yanfei, vice president of Guangdong Provincial Research Institute of Special Equipment Inspection, and Liang Guo'an, former vice president of Jiangsu Provincial Research Institute of Safety Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine of Special Equipment, attended the meeting. Representatives from boiler manufacturing, burner manufacturing, burner testing, igniter manufacturing and other related companies attended the meeting. Members of the biomass energy team from the School of Energy and Power Engineering of Nanjing University of Science and Technology, representatives of Nanjing Ruikong Automation Co., Ltd (a manufacturer of automatic control equipment for biomass combustion devices), and Dalian Sunshine Boiler Auxiliary Engine Co.

During the symposium, the delegates discussed and exchanged views on the technical requirements of active dispersal device, hazardous combustion condition early warning device, powder channel and heating surface of biomass boiler, and warmly discussed the draft technical standard of "Active Dispersal Device".

During the meeting, the delegates visited the biomass charcoal cogeneration boiler room under the State Power Investment Group, investigated on-site the application of active dispersal device in the actual furnace, and examined the current situation of biomass charcoal cogeneration combustion device and biomass charcoal industrial application.

During the conference, the representatives also visited the Zhishan base of Nanjing Agricultural University, examined in detail the current status of biomass charcoal application in agriculture, and discussed the related technical issues of biomass boilers burning grass-like straw fuel.

After the field observation and inspection, the delegates more deeply realize that, in view of the specificity of biomass fuels, the safety of biomass boilers is very different from coal-fired, oil-fired, gas-fired boilers; at present, the application of biomass boilers is developing rapidly under the impetus of the green and low-carbon transformation of the energy industry and the safety of biomass boilers needs to be urgently resolved.
